The Wait…

The emotions that resonate when I hear this word come alive from the time I was little. And, trust me, I was a child who had always been in a hurry. When I wanted something, it had to be done ‘now’. So, what where did this need for instant gratification stem from?

For me, waiting meant, I might lose the opportunity of moving ahead. It mattered that the chart paper for a project the teacher required be submitted on time. Else, I would lose my place for being lauded as the student who always does things when asked. At the age of 5, it seemed very important to me. To not lose my place or face. Yes, the ego – it creeps in so quietly. Or when I was on my to a movie hall and I’d keep asking, ‘when are we reaching? Are we close? How much closer?” My mother would reassure me quietly, “No, be patient, we are getting there’. Has much changed since then? I think not.

Today, as a Victory Coach, I find myself repeating these same very words my mother used to my mentees. “Wait”. “Be patient”.

Some of you are waiting for that call from an organisation confirming your job appointment. Some for a a more joyful and peaceful relationship with your loved ones. Some for that promotion which is long due. Some for that love that’s a void missing right now in your life.

I can feel the fear, the anxiety in your eyes. The fear of what if it isn’t true? Yes, it’s exhausting. Yes, it’s a strain. But, hang in there.

Trust the Universe. Things are moving. Perhaps, not at your pace. But, still yourself from the chatter of worry in your mind. The Universe has a plan for you, and all of us. You are born with the trappings of success.

Don’t let judgments stand in the way of your peace. Don’t let living today be sacrificed to the anxiety of ‘what will happen’. Keep doing all you need to do.

And, as Akilnanthan Logeswaran says, ‘When the time has come, every leaf turns to face the sun.’

Peace and love in abundance to each one of you! Have a marvellous week and stay blessed!
