THE FIGHT ISN’T OVER UNTIL YOU WIN

THE FIGHT ISN’T OVER UNTIL YOU WIN.

– Robin Hobb

Life, for most people has come with its share of obstacle races. Some of you look at the path and say, ‘what the hell, let’s get on with it!’ and for some the disdain is, ‘not again!” Whatever the case, victory is yours if you take it head on.

As a child, my entry into the world happened after my mother gave birth to a stillborn sibling. She was under severe depression and riddled with anxiety, I’m told. I was barely 41/2 pounds and absolutely sickly. The journey into the world was in itself a challenge with my parent’s economic condition not being quite as bright, what with extra care and other expenses. If that wasn’t all, I was gifted with an illness called asthma. Pretty common these days but as a child without any availability of the insta-cures, childhood, health-wise was riddled with suffering and fear.
Somehow, I suspect, my survival instincts kicked in. I have this innate quality of never, ever giving up!
The seeds of victory were sown in the struggle to stay and remain alive.

I’m sharing a personal story of  Victory I stumbled upon today. It was recorded a few years ago as a candid conversation of my life as an asthmatic.

This is for those who are waging wars with illnesses that are grave.
Prayer, love and healing to you.

May victory always be yours xx
